Both men and women can have noticeable forehead wrinkles that make them look older than what they are. The eye brows may also sag due to genetics, ageing or illness. The brow thread silhouette lift is a non-surgical means of removing forehead lines and lifting the eye brows for a more youthful look.

People choose to have brow thread lift silhouette treatment because it is a non-invasive solution to enhance appearance and confidence.

What is Brow Thread Silhouette Lift?

Brow thread silhouette lift is a new cosmetic procedure which uses small threads like tiny sutures to be inserted under the skin by needle to lift the brow. These threads work as non-dissolving sutures and are not visible nor felt as they support the re-positioned brow tissue in place.

Treatment Process

Initially the person will meet with the consultant to discuss their brow lift needs and suitability for brow thread silhouette lift treatment. The person’s health is evaluated and recommendations are made for treatment, including a discussion of risks, benefits and costs. Individuals who are very thin or have weak skin may not be suitable candidates for this particular treatment.

The consultant may show the individual before and after pictures of what to anticipate from brow thread silhouette lift. If the individual desires other cosmetic procedures, such as a neck lift, muscle relaxation or derma fillers, these can be provided at the same time.

In cases where the patient wishes to proceed with brow lift treatment using thread silhouette, a consent form for treatment will be signed and the patient provided with guidance on how to prepare for treatment. The patient is given local anaesthesia for pain-free care and the treatment is provided on the same day.

Brow thread lift involves the physician using a needle placed in selected locations of the forehead or hairline, in which threads that are non-dissolving are inserted to lift the skin and brow tissue. The sutures are located below the skin to provide additional support for collagen development, which aids in tightening the skin to remove sagging and wrinkles as time progresses.

The entire procedure takes 60 to 90 minutes. Once patients have recovered they are able to return home.

Other treatments: face lift | thigh lift | gastric balloon

Recovery Time

Patients are provided with aftercare instructions to ensure healthy recovery. The effects of local anaesthesia soon wear off but some pain and discomfort may be felt. In such cases the clinician will give the patient painkillers for relief.

Damage may result if the person rubs their face hard, especially near the treatment site. Keeping facial expressions and mouth movements less animated is recommended to prevent risk of trauma. Such care should usually be maintained for about 3 weeks after treatment.

After 2 to 3 days patients can resume their usual activities. When cleaning or touching the face and when sleeping, the patient should exercise care to avert dislodgement of the sutures and tissue. Some bruising and puffiness may be present but will subside after a week. Each person’s healing rate and recovery time is different.

Potential Risks

The risks associated with brow thread silhouette lift treatment are low because the procedures do not require general anaesthetic and they are non-invasive. The threads or sutures are medical-grade polypropylene and commonly used in medical treatments. Although infection and bleeding may occur steps are taken by the physician to minimise such risks. Scarring is not evident because the sutures are woven beneath the skin. If needed the sutures may be removed and replaced.

Results of Thread lift/Silhouette – Brow

Brow thread silhouette lift gives individuals an attractive forehead and brow with less wrinkles. Their fresh youthful skin tone adds to confidence, self-image and sense of wellbeing. Each person experiences different outcomes depending on the condition of their forehead and brow, including the amount of sutures used. The results of treatment are expected to last between 2 and 8 years, and the physician may periodically monitor the need for additional threads over time.
